STUDENTS

Student ministry is done best within the context of relationships. We believe the most important relationship is with Jesus. Our student ministry strives to reach all students with the encouragement of the Gospel and walk with them as they grow in their faith. We're not perfect, but no one is, however we have fun, we are real, and at the end of the day, we're in this together.

STUDENT SAFETY FAQ'S

  • What process do volunteers go through?

Before any volunteer is permitted to serve with us, they submit an Adult Leader Application, undergo a criminal background check, and walk through an interview process. In this application, they receive and agree to our Student Safety Policy, which includes sexual abuse and awareness training.

  • Can a student ride with a leader?

No staff member or volunteer is permitted to transport a student in a vehicle alone. If a Student needs a ride, we require that another adult or student accompany them. The only exceptions to this come from explicit, written permission from the parent or guardian and we discourage this in most situations.

  • How does a leader communicate with a student?

Staff members and volunteers should ALWAYS make parents aware when communicating with students via phone or text. There is never to be opposite gender communication alone by staff or volunteer leaders. This also applies to social media (direct messages).

  • What happens if a student shares sensitive information with a leader?

Every staff member and leader in our ministry is a mandatory reporter. This means we are legally required to report any dangerous or potentially dangerous situation immediately, including but not limited to:

    • If a student is being harmed, neglected, or abused.
    • If a student is harming or abusing someone else.
    • If a student is harming or at risk of harming themselves
